A founding member of MCCA in 1989 and an Independent Director since 2009, Professor Kalam is an established author, academic and expert in Islamic finance who has a strong record in leading boards of directors and multi disciplinary leadership teams.
Professor Kalam is a Professor and former Deputy Dean at the Faculty of Health, Engineering and Science at Victoria University. He is a graduate from the Universities of Bath (UK), Oklahama (US) and Aligarh (India) in Electrical Engineering. He is a Fellow and member of the Institute of Engineers (Australia, UK & US). He is the author of many books, publications, articles and papers in his 27-year academic career. He has served as Chairman of MCCA since 2005, Director since 2002 and was a founding member of MCCA (1989). Professor Kalam has been an Independent Director of MCCAAM since March 2009.
