Dr Muhammad is currently serving as the Grand Mufti of Australia. He was initially appointed to the role of Shariah Advisor for MCCA in April 1992. He is a leading authority in Islamic finance in Australia and has published extensively in his field, having gained his Islamic education at the world-renowned Al Azhar University.
